Since McCain's announcement of Sarah Palin as his running mate, various pundits and talking heads have asked, "Is the Obama campaign beginning to melt down?" I'll go out on a limb and state emphatically that not only has the One's campaign begun to melt down, it has melted down.

Although not overtly stated, it has become apparent that Obama's supposed campaign of a different stripe, the high-minded approach, is really a sham supported by MSM surrogates who are more than willing to take the low road. Since Palin's announcement it's become quite obvious to anyone willing to engage in an intellectually honest manner. Not a day goes by that we are not subjected to an almost continuous onslaught of anti-Palin propaganda.

The MSM is in a stark, raving panic. They have been blindsided, and what was supposed to be a walk in the park has now turned into a nightmare scenario in which the MSM's treatment of Sarah Palin is morphing into the real story. With each passing day, the MSM loses more credibility and with each Palin smear piece, the VP candidate's popularity registers an up-tick. With each sneering peep over his glasses, Charley Gibson added to the Sarah Palin phenomenon. With each "exact quote" taken out of context, add a couple more pelling points to McCain/Palin. With every misrepresented position that is quickly debunked by an army if internet linked fact checker, the veil rises more exposing the Obama smear campaign that is being back-ended by the MSM.

Barring a complete meltdown by McCain/Palin, I wouldn't be surprised if in November we see a high single to low double digit victory for the Republican ticket. When--if that occurs, the MSM onslaught we're seeing now will pale in comparison.

Granted, I would much rather see a conservative victory, but, in the long view of things, I do worry about the damage the MSM is possibly doing to the political system. That is the real crime of the Obama/MSM campaign.
